Clutter is a universal issue everyone has. It starts easily and needs to be dealt with before it gets out of hand. Get into the habit of throwing away items such as newspapers and magazines
Avoid bringing home or to the office anything you really dont need. Avoid buying things ?just because? and you wont have to deal with the clutter it creates later. If you are purchasing a replacement for something old get rid of the older item when you get home. Dont hang onto the older item thinking you will do it later. Sometimes later will cause the clutter.
Avoid letting paper take over your house. It is too easy to lay paper aside thinking you will do something with it later. When you have it in your hands do something with it then. Procrastination is the root of all clutter. Avoid putting off for tomorrow what you can do today and right now.
Toss out junk mail when you get it. Put your bills in one location where you go to pay the bills. Keep it all organized so you can find it later. When you put things in a pile you lose your control.
If you want an article out of a magazine clip the article and trash the remaining magazine. Put the clipping in a file in the filing cabinet so you know everything is in one spot.
Get the entire family involved with the organization and decluttering habits. Teach them how to remove the clutter before it gets out of hand and creates a messy environment. When you have a group effort the tasks of keeping the clutter under control is much easier.
