Pet Clutter 101
Anyone with pets is aware of the pet clutter that comes along with even one furry, four-legged friend. This clutter can seem to take over the home with toys, food storage and dishes throughout the entire home. Many pet owners have created innovative ways to reduce the clutter of having pets and therefore improving the appearance of the area. Use these tips to reduce the pet clutter in your home and make the most of storage that can help to reduce the disarray that comes with having a pet.
First, take advantage of food storage containers that can be used to keep food fresh, as well as avoiding the dog-food smell which can come from open bags within storage rooms and other areas of the home. These storage containers are available for less than ten dollars and can be an effective way to clean up the food situation.
Next, find a basket for toys and keep all the toys that are not being used by the pet inside of this basket. Baskets can be integrated into the décor, by choosing complimentary colors that can hold all of the toys, treats and bones which seem to find their way through the home on the floor and on furniture.
Take advantage of hooks that are available that can be used to organizes leashes, collars and even pet clothing. There are many places that these hooks can be stored within closets to have them out of the way, but always at arm’s reach when the family pet is ready for a walk!
Using these techniques, pet owners can have the enjoyable nature of a pet, without the clutter and mess that most pets come with. Their equipment can be stored within plastic containers under sinks and in storage rooms to avoid clutter from shampoo, nail clippers and special medication. This is a great way to ensure everything remains organized.

Pet clutter is probably the number one problem with new pet owners. Definitely hits people a lot harder than they would think. If only my dog knew to return the toys she takes out, haha!
My wife and I are positive that our two scottish terriers and our 2 year old boy have made some sort of pact to take up all our spare time because if we’re not cleaning up the mess he’s made, we’re probably busy cleaning up after the dogs… de-cluttering our four-legged friends was a lot easier than attempting to corall the rugrat, thats for sure!
